James Bio

James Hilton is a British graphic illustrator and screen printer who lives in Miami, FL with his wife and son.

James first learned to screen print as an undergraduate studying for his bachelor's degree in the UK. Having graduated from college with a Bachelor's degree in textile and fashion design, James spent over 20 years working in corporate graphic design and product roles for a collection of well-known global brands.

With the opportunity to travel the world, experiencing different cultures and meeting amazing people, he was able to widen his creative frame of reference with all the beautiful places he visited.

In 2018 James relocated to Boston, MA where he was once again able to channel his passion and energy for design, refreshing his knowledge of printmaking and screen printing at Massachusetts college of Art and Design.  Combining his wealth of practical knowledge and technique from his corporate life, he took his passion and made it a full-time focus by starting his own print studio.  From there, he has been exploring various topics that visually influence him, creating work that represents his subject matter in a new and intriguing way. He finds inspiration in many forms, from classic American muscle cars and comic books to pop art styling, vintage wallpaper, and old jazz record album sleeves.

The studio takes its name from the same turn of phrase which reflects James laid back attitude to life but also from the fact that he shares the same birthday day as his wife and son (albeit different months).
